Soothing Electronica with a touch of 90s Hip-Hop.

Cheap Monk is the alias for the Spanish producer Miguel Martín. Raised and based in Málaga, he started making music in his early teens, around 2010. It wasn’t until 2018, having already gone through various aliases, that he started releasing music as Cheap Monk.

Moving between laidback, soothing Electronic Music and 90s Hip-Hop, his catalog has grown to be a bit diverse, drawing inspiration from artists like Porter Robinson, Madlib, Flying Lotus, Emancipator, Nujabes and more.

Independently released, reaching millions.

With most of his catalog being released independently, Cheap Monk has been able to reach millions of listeners on platforms like Spotify, where his singles Agua, Saturno and Tao sit at more than 4, 5 and 6 millions of streams each.

In the process, he’s been able to collaborate internationally with artists like Mike Casey, Shibui Nigai, Elan Brio and Jav Cast, release with labels like Hip Dozer, and gain support from blogs like Stereofox, Le Visiteur, The Word Is Bond and DJBOOTH.
